Robert Roy 'Skip' Linden

Linden, Robert Roy "Skip" Age 69, of Wayzata, was diagnosed with cancer on September 30, 2016 and passed at home on October 18, 2016. He was surrounded by his loving family including wife, Linda; daughter, Robin; sons, Robert and William; grandchildren, Nicholas, Grace, and Jack. His son-in-law, Dan, and beloved niece, Buffy, were a source of love and support. Skip was a patriotic man and served his country during the Vietnam War as a member of the United States Navy. He took great pride in his long postal career and the honor that the Wayzata City Council bestowed upon him, designating December 21, 2010 Robert "Skip" Linden Day. Skip was generous and always willing to help others in need. He instilled in his children a strong work ethic, moral responsibility and old school values. The grandchildren kept him young at heart. He treasured his family and friends. Skip was a talented "Jack of All Trades." Many of his life's enjoyments were gardening, cooking, tractor shows, fishing, and camping. His annual pilgrimage to the State Fair, arriving early in the morning and reliving wonderful youthful memories when visiting the horse barns, was made even more enjoyable when he could sit back, relax, and let Metro Transit do the driving. In retirement, he enjoyed movies on the big screen, especially with the new reclining chairs, indulging in a variety of cultural foods and utilizing his senior citizen discount. His recent traveling adventures included Alaska, Hawaii, walking across the Mackinaw Bridge, Holland Michigan Tulip Festival, and the 911 Memorial. His last adventure in April was a two week two thousand mile cross country road trip. He looked forward to meeting new people and could carry on a conversation with anyone, anytime, anywhere.
