Boddy, Lola Mae age 91, of Minneapolis, died peacefully at Walker Methodist Health Care Center on Sunday, October 16, 2016. Born Lola Mae Borg September 3, 1925 in the close-knit community of Northwood, IA, she was the only child of Gladys (nee Jewett) and Maurice Borg. Lola married John William Boddy on June 28, 1946, and they had five children: Katherine (Robert Haskin), Helen (Mike Olson), Anne (Wayne Everson), Janet (Chuck Spargo) and Jim (Barbara Ping). Her grandchildren and step-grandchildren are Pam Dmytrenko, Julie Gelb, Brent Olson, David Haskin, Scott Haskin, Jennifer Tromiczak, Kelly Harrington, Joseph Harrington, Cassandra Welsh, Nicole Boddy, Katrina Kensy, Andrew BoddySpargo, Tyler BoddySpargo, and Jonathan BoddySpargo. She is also survived by 17 great-grandchildren. Lola and John Boddy (deceased 1988) made Southwest Minneapolis their home for most of their lives. Both were actively involved in the greater Minneapolis community and Lake Harriet Christian Church for many decades. Lola's last fourteen years were spent in the attentive care of Walker Methodist Health Center staff. Her children remain very grateful for the compassionate and tender care she received. Lola's children and grandchildren were beneficiaries of her loving attention throughout her life. She is greatly missed.
