Roger V. Troyer

Troyer, Roger V. of Elk River, MN, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born on April 12, 1932 to Vern and Amanda Troyer in Duluth. Roger was raised in Duluth, Graduating from Denfeld High School and the UMD ROTC program. While waiting for his assignment, he was drafted by the U.S. Navy and served from 1955 1957. He was employed by Marshall Wells and International Harvester (Truck Division) Duluth and St. Cloud until his interest in real estate became a reality. He joined the Spring Company, Coldwell Bankers, and Investors of Minnesota in sales and management. He was a past member of the Triple Diamond Motor Truck Sales, Anoka Board of Realtors, Board of Directors for Brooklyn Center Chamber of Commerce, National Association of Realtors, original member of the Brooklyn Center Rotary Club, and a life member of the UMD alumni association. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Vern and Amanda (Mehling) Troyer. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Helen of 53 years; precious daughter, Kimberly (Brad) DuChene of Big Lake; grandchildren, David (Whitney), Kelsey, Zach, and Josh; three step grand children; and great granddaughter, Leeyah. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the disabled Veterans of America. Visitation Friday, October 21, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. until the 4:00 p.m. funeral service at Bell Brothers Funeral Home, 601 North 56th Ave. West, Duluth. Interment will be in Oneota Cemetery.
