Janet Irene (Maehling) Hinderager

Hinderager (Maehling), Janet Irene 94, passed away peacefully in Edina, MN on 8- 22- 2016. She was born in Montrose, MN to Leo and Anna (Robertson) Maehling on 10-18, 1921. Janet's childhood was spent on a dairy farm in Buffalo, MN. She graduated from Buffalo High School and went on to business school in Minneapolis. In 1944, she married Morris "Morrie" Hinderager; they lived in Minneapolis, Green Bay, WI, Fort Dodge and Spencer, IA, where Morrie worked for Cargill. In 1947, Morrie passed away. Afterwards, Janet spent several years in the tourism/hospitality business, working at Glacier National Park, the Greenbrier Hotel in Virginia and at the famous Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach, FL. Janet took a position at the Palm Beach County Court House in the criminal courts division. Thirty-five+ years later she retired in 1989, after growing her office of seven employees to over 300+ employees. She was an active volunteer. Residing in West Palm Beach for over 50 years. She traveled the world. She always made time to visit her family in Minnesota every summer and often hosted them in West Palm. Her final years were spent in Minnesota where she enjoyed being closer to her family. Janet is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morrie Hinderager; parents; sister Jean Maehling Kobbe; brother Bob Maehling. Her survivors are 5 nieces and 1 nephew: Judy Maehling Klatt, Mary Kobbe DesMarais, Suzan Kobbe, Linda Maehling Zimmerman, Kevin Maehling, and Penne Kobbe Holt; other relatives and friends. Janet will be missed by her family and numerous friends! A private family memorial and graveside service will be held in Oct.
