Neitzel, Geraldine M. (Carter) age 94, of Hopkins, Golden Valley & St. Louis Park, passed away September 22 with family at her side. Preceded in death by husband Del R., brother Robert & twin brother George 'Jack', sister Joyce Emerson, daughter Diane Glock & grandson Craig Glock. Survived by son Douglas (Kathy), grandchildren Julie Carr (Steve), Charles Grussing-Neitzel (Naida), Heather Glock, & Poppy Glock, 6 great-grandchildren and several neices & nephews. Geri was born July 22, 1922 to Ronald & Dorathy Carter (both deceased) in Minneapolis. She was married in 1943 to then MSG Del R. Neitzel while stationed at Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Geri lived in her Golden Valley townhouse until moving into The Glen Hopkins (formerly St. Therese Southwest). She entered hospice care in June. A special heartfelt Thank You to the staff at The Glen, the Gentle Touch care team, Allina Health Hospice care team and the staff at Marie Steiner Kelting Hospice Home. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, October 2 in the Fireside Room at Colonial Church of Edina, 6200 Colonial Way, Edina, MN. A reception will follow the service in the Great Hall.
