Margaret Anne Getty

Getty, Margaret Anne age 95, formerly of Blaine, Minnesota. Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt, passed away Sept. 22, 2016. Preceded in death by husband Vincent Getty and six brothers and sisters. Survived by daughters Bonnie Foley (Richard), Molly Rhoe (Steven), son Glenn Getty; grandsons Chris Foley (Jessamyn), Brian Getty (Lisa); granddaughters Erin Foley, Carissa Wallin and Amber Miller (Alan); great-grandchildren Tristan, Madeline, Knox, Quinn, Sydney and Aubrey; her beloved cousins David and Ann Marie Getty of Balleymoney, N. Ireland, along with many loving nephews and nieces including Marie Pozarnsky (Dennis), Susan Richard (Larry), Bernadette Adams (Fred), Kris Franzen (Charles), Michelle Haggan (Rich), Elizabeth Klekovic (Michael); grand-nieces and nephews, and friends too numerous to list. Margaret was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a 1939 graduate of St. Margaret's high-school where she was the class reunion Chairperson for 50 years; an active member at Church of the Epiphany in Coon Rapids where she developed many deep and on-going friendships. She was a past Auxiliary President at the Kraus-Hartig VFW Post 6587. She retired as a bookkeeper in 2009 at the age of 87. She was an artist, avid gardener, knitter, crossword puzzle enthusiast, world traveler and avid Twins fan. She treasured her family and friends. Margaret had many friends and staff who cared about her at Catholic Eldercare where she was a resident. There she was able to nurture her talent as a watercolor artist, enter her art in the Courage Kenny Art Show and share her art with family and friends. Visitation at Washburn-McReavy Columbia Heights Chapel on September 29, 2016 from 4-7 pm. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am Friday, September 30, 2016 at Church of the Epiphany, 11001 Hanson Blvd NW, Coon Rapids with visitation 1 hour prior.
