Fundingsland, Robert A. "Bob" Age 73, of St. Louis Park, passed away peacefully in his sleep on September 19, 2016. Bob was a graduate of Minneapolis West High School in 1960 and received a B.A. from Augsburg College in Minneapolis in 1965. He married Janice Louise Munson in 1967. They entered their 50th year of marriage this year. Bob was a co-founder and owner of Surgical Instruments Associates from 1977 until 2000 then with NorthStar Surgical until retiring in 2009. He was a passionate medical salesman and loved all those he worked with. He enjoyed scuba diving, military history and following Minnesota professional and Gopher sports. For many years he loved to spend time with family at the cabin built by his father on Sullivan Lake. Bob's pride and joy were his family. He was a selfless, kind, respectful, humorous gentleman to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife Janice, two children, Susan (TJ) Varecka, and Bradley (Sarah) Fundingsland; grandchildren, Taylor and Charlie Varecka, and Tyler Fundingsland. He was preceded in death by parents Alice Jeanette Anderson and Arnold Engvald, brother John (Liz) and son Jeffrey. A combined memorial service will be held for both Bob and his wife Jan, who is currently in hospice care.
