Nyland, Robert L. age 84, of Brooklyn Park, MN, passed away 09/03/16. Born in Roseau, MN, he was preceded in death by his parents Nels and Anna Nyland, siblings Olaf, Arnie, Thea, Ann, Eunice, Ruth, Kess and his twin brother Roger. Retiree of Wells Fargo Bank, Bob will be fondly remembered for his love of singing and dancing with his sisters, his taking over the family bean recipe, and being the most prolific pancake maker on Lake Placid. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Gloria (Sandberg); his children, Karen Roberts (Jim), Scott Nyland, Jeff Nyland (Shari) and Julie Anderson (Dave); 5 grandchildren, Chris and Cody Roberts, Lauren Koran, Amanda and Nick Nyland; 3 great grandchildren, Jack, Sam and Luke Roberts and was quietly awaiting the birth of his 4th great-grandson Landon Koran. He will be missed by all, but we are smiling at the thought of him joining his family in heaven for a cup coffee and a sugar cube. A celebration of Bob's life will be honored with a memorial gathering for friends and family will be held Saturday, October 1st, at the reception room of the Cremation Society Brooklyn Park at 7835 Brooklyn Blvd., Brooklyn Park, MN 55445 at 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Please join us for a light lunch and a time of remembrance. Bob will be laid to rest in his home town of Roseau, MN at a later date.
