Niska, James M. "Jim" Age 69, of Grand Junction, CO, formerly of Freeport and Brooklyn Park, died unexpectedly on August 27, 2016. Jim was a Vietnam Veteran and retired from MnDOT after 38 years. He was preceded in death by his parents Melvin and Mildred/Millie; son-in-law, Mitch Wiebe and sister-in-law, Barb (Tom) Jandro. He is survived by his children, Michelle Niska, James Jr. (Chris), and their mother Diane Niska; grandson and best buddy Nathan; granddaughter and his princess Kiera; 6 siblings, in-laws, and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Thank you dad for your strength and devotion to our family. Memorial Mass 10 AM Friday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church (2048 Hamline Ave. No., Roseville). Visitation 4-8 PM Thursday at Roseville Memorial Chapel (2245 Hamline Ave. No., Roseville) and one hour prior to Mass at the church Friday. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
