Wehage, Vernon Christopher age 61 of Crosby was lost so tragically at his home on August 20, 2016. He was born on January 10, 1955 in Minneapolis to Vernon and Blanche (Carson) Wehage. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Vern married Joni Miller on November 12, 1980 in Brooklyn Park. He was a retired Minnesota State Trooper with over 30 years of service. He was a member of the Minnesota Air Borne Law Enforcement Association, the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557 of Deerwood, the Sno Serpents Snowmobile Club and St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby. Vern is survived by his wife of 36 years, Joni; his father, Vernon Wehage of Big Lake and his mother, Blanche Schugg of Elk River; one son, Timothy Miller of Columbus, Ohio, one brother, David (Syndi) Wehage of Tulsa, OK; one sister, Jean (John) Kasper of Elk River; two grandchildren, Joshua Hartman and Tina Hartman and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Vern in death are two daughters, Kelly Jo Miller and Tracey Hartman. Funeral services will be 10:30 am on Tuesday, August 30, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Crosby with full military honors being presented by the Walter Scott Erickson American Legion Post #557. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the services at the church on Tuesday. Arrangements are with the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby. Joni and Vern's family wish to thank everyone for their help, their thoughts and prayers, memorials, and flowers.
