Stearns, David Michael age 74, died on August 20, 2016 at his home, in Bloomington, MN. David is survived by his wife Jean, son Steven Stearns, daughters Kelly (Paul) Holt, Amy (Brian) Sajko; stepdaughters Michelle Foster, Colleen Foster and Rebecca (Jeremiah) Bican. He is also survived by eight loving grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his mother Clarice Olson, father Clarence Stearns, stepfather Robert Olson and son Timothy Michael. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1959 and enlisted in the US Navy. After serving his country, he graduated from the University of Minnesota where he was president of Phi Sigma Kappa. He earned an MBA in 1976 from Capital University in Ohio. He worked as an executive for several major industrial manufacturing companies for more than 30 years, the longest being 20-plus at Ramsey Engineering in St. Paul. David was a great family man and a loving father. He was a socially active man who enjoyed classic movies, world travel, and collecting stamps for the majority of his life. He enjoyed a gourmet club (a lifelong group of Friends of the Fork), the Northern Minnesota wilderness, the Guthrie, reading WWII, Viking and Civil War histories and being surrounded by family. His family & friends will always remember him as "The Rock". In times of trouble, he was always there, ready, and standing tall for those he loved.
