Rose Metchnek

Metchnek, Rose age 99 of St. Louis Park, passed away August 20, 2016. Rose was a sweet, spirited lady who was physically active through most of her life with bowling in her earlier years and playing golf into her later years. She had a unique gift for various games over her years from gin rummy played against husband Bill often at 2 a.m. and mahjong, canasta and in more recent decades bridge which she played at a serious level until her last week or two. Rose also supported and was a member of B'nai B'rith, City of Hope and Hadassah. She was probably the only resident of Roitenberg who had a casino-type slot machine in her room which brought her much joy. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, William; daughter-in-law, Lois; parents, Nathan & Toba "Tillie" Bugenstein; siblings, Jack, Ben and Art Beugen. Survived by sons, Jim (special friend Annette Kisser) and Bruce (Sandi); grandchildren, Gary (Nicky), Wendy (fiancé Jeff Connell), Andrew, Lindsey Haynes (Leon) and Murray Blehart (Christine); great-grandchildren, Alex, Adam and Lyla; sister-in-law and good friend, Sophie Beugen and special friend Bea Herman. Funeral service 2 pm THURSDAY, August 25th at UNITED HEBREW BROTHERHOOD CEMETERY CHAPEL, 2605 W. 70 1/2 Street, Richfield. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to The Rose Metchnek Fund at the Adath Jeshurun Congregation, 10500 Hillside Lane W., Minnetonka, or the donor's favorite charity.
