Simons, Ross Adam Nov. 9, 1949 - July 22, 2016 of Bloomington. Survived by wife Fusako Omura Simons, daughter Miki Cannon (Stan Katayama), sister Leila (Mark) Campbell, aunts Lorraine Quigley and Patty (Rolla) Bryant and numerous cousins. He was preceded by parents Floyd E. and Elsie M. Simons and brother Lyle Simons. Ross was born in St. Paul and raised in Bloomington. A Viet Nam Navy veteran, Ross graduated from Bloomington Kennedy (67), Normandale (AES), University of Wisconsin River Falls (BS) and Minnesota State University Mankato (MBA). Following his retirement from Honeywell/Alliant Tech Systems, Ross entered the grocery business with the ownership of Super Simons Market in Chamberlain, SD followed by 9 years managing the Grand Market at Mille Lacs. He retired to rural Brainerd and fished the Brainerd lakes at will. Suffering 30 years from a congenital cardiac problem, as his health failed he moved to the Bloomington campus of Minnesota Masonic Home. Ross was an Order of the Arrow (BSA), Past Master of Chamberlain Lodge No. 56 AF&AM in SD and a member of the Minneapolis Scottish Rite. A remembrance will be held at the OES Chapel at Masonic Home, 11501 Masonic Home Drive on Thursday 7/28 at 11AM. Visitation will be at 10AM with a masonic memorial service at 10:55. Private family interment will be at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in September. No flowers please!
