Susan Leigh Stebbins Collins, 57, died on Friday, July 15, 2016, in Dummerston, VT after a year-long struggle with a debilitating illness. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, on August 5, 1958. Susal worked for a variety of social change organizations in MN, around the U.S. and Nepal, and taught intercultural communication (VT) and mindfulness (MA). She was a passionate gardener and photographer, and a practicing Buddhist. Susan was a bright light to all who knew her. She is survived by husband William, loving family and many friends. A visitation/supper will be held in her honor at the Unitarian-Universalist Fellowship in Richmond, KY, on Sunday, July 31, at 5 p.m. A memorial service for Susal will be held in Dummerston, VT, at Transition Dummerston, on Friday, August 5, her birthday. In lieu of flowers, send donations in Susal's memory to Nepal earthquake relief through Mercy Corps or American Himalayan Foundation.
