Floyd Clarence Custer

Custer, Floyd Clarence age 94, of Monticello, MN and formerly of Spicer, MN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wed, June 15, 2016, at St. Benedicts Sr. Community. Private burial was on Sun, June 19, 2016, at Howard Lake Cemetery of Howard Lake, MN. On Sat, July 23, 2016, there will be a visitation at 11:00 AM with a 12:00 Noon "Celebration of Floyd's Life" at Hope Evangelical Free Church, 513 West 4th Street, Monticello, MN. Floyd was born October 17, 1921, in Howard Lake, MN. He grew up in the Howard Lake area, and attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada. He was united in marriage to Edith Engstrom in 1947. The couple lived in Minneapolis and then moved to the Spicer area for 20 years. In 1995, they moved to Monticello and have lived there since that time. Although Floyd worked for American Linen Supply Company for 38 years, his most enjoyable pleasure was in his little boat fishing on Green Lake. He also loved to watch basketball and cheer on the Twins. Floyd served in several churches and was a great prayer warrior for his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife Edith; parents Asael and Ida (Gerber) Custer; grandson Shane Johnson; and great granddaughter Naomi Brown. Floyd is survived by five daughters, Susan (Steve) Schnarr of Afton, MN, Mary Johnson of Eagan, MN, Joy (Dave) Peterson of Bonita Springs, FL, Joan (Mark) Sinnard of Wilsall, MT, Barb Custer of Bloomington, MN; brother Don Custer of Brooklyn Center, MN; sister Janet Severson of Eagan, MN; grandchildren Kerry, Shelby, Chris, Kelly, Stacy, Aaron, Sara, Abby, Spencer, and Paige; and great grandchildren Stella, Dominik, Nick, Tyler, Lexi and Sophia.
