Hamel, Mary Kennedy Age 89 of Edina, MN, passed away on June 14, 2016. Preceded in death by husband Robert W. in 2005; parents William and Helen Kennedy; 3 infant children. Survived by daughter Molly (Dennis) Julison; sons Mark (Beth) Hamel and David (Pam) Hamel; grandchildren Kenneth Julison, Becca (Adam Rude), Frannie Julison and Katie, Andy and Ben Hamel; sister Helen "Cissy" (Tom) Simonet; and many nieces and nephews. Mary had a long and successful career selling real estate in the west metro area. She was a strong proponent of adoption, helped found the Adoption Option organization to promote the cause and was active in other volunteer and community activities. She enjoyed golfing, tennis and spending time with family and friends at her cabin on Whitefish Lake. Memorials preferred to Adoption Option Council of Minnesota, Alzheimer's Association or Convent of the Visitation School.
