Elaine A. Taubert

Taubert, Elaine A. Age 87, of Lakeville, passed away on May 29, 2016. Elaine was a devoted and loving wife to her husband Carl (Rusty) for nearly 60 years. She was an amazing supportive mother to her four girls, Wendy, Janelle, Denise and Martha. Rusty and Elaine initially settled in Los Angeles, CA, where he started his career with Pillsbury. In 1964 they moved to Burnsville where they made their home for many years. In 1986 they retired to Casselton, ND/ Crosslake, MN. In 2014 Rusty and Elaine moved to Lakeville, MN. From her big smile and infectious laugh to her clever sense of humor, anyone who met Elaine knew what a wonderful woman she was. She had a welcoming spirit and witty charm that put people at ease. After graduating from the University of North Dakota, Elaine worked as a home economics teacher in MN and CA. She then became a homemaker, raising her daughters until she and Rusty retired. Together they enjoyed time at the lake with their multitude of friends and family, being active members of the Crosslake Presbyterian Church, traveling and spending time together. Elaine was a talented baker making tasty pies, homemade bread & melt-in-your-mouth spritz cookies. She was a life-long member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority and connected regularly with her sorority sisters. Elaine was preceded in death by parents Emma and Albert Lebus and her brother Dallas. She is survived by husband Rusty; her 4 daughters: Wendy Thompson and fiancé Jeff Eisenberg of Plymouth; Janelle Sundberg and husband Rich of Alexandria; Denise Zehnder and husband Rich of Prior Lake; Martha Brettschneider and husband Dan of Brookings, SD; 8 grandchildren; Ryan, Connor, Alec, Dylan, Ellie, Max, Blake and Reid; and sister Orlynn Denham of CA. Special thanks to the incredible caregivers and hospice team for the loving and steadfast care that was provided to her at Ebenezer Ridges Care Center. The family invites you to celebrate Elaine's life at an Open House from 2 - 5 pm, Sunday, June 5 at Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave, Edina, MN. Memorials to Fairview Hospice are preferred.
