Clark, Helen Age 85; passed on April 28, 2016. Helen was born in Kingston Township, MN, to Everett and Lillian (Johnson) Wills on June 1, 1930. As a child she lived in Minnesota and Oregon. She loved the roses in Oregon and watching the rodeo. In Minnesota she enjoyed picking and eating blueberries and baking pies. Sports included softball and volleyball. After graduating from Kimball High School, Helen set out for Minneapolis and boarded at Mabeth Paige Hall, where she met lifelong friend Bonnie. As a young bride, Helen attended and worked at the University of Montana. A capable person and learner, she obtained a paralegal certificate later in life at the University of Minnesota and then worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Minneapolis until retirement. Helen was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother, with a gentle sense of humor and a knack for nicknames for her children. She loved to learn about current trends and events. Helen fed her intellectual curiosity through books and by constantly finding newspaper and magazine articles of interest to herself and for others. Nonjudgmental, socially progressive and with a sense of justice, Helen encouraged her daughters in all ways and made numerous sacrifices on their behalf. A beautiful person inside and out, she had good common sense and good fashion sense. Helen was a member of St. Stephen Lutheran Church and was a past member of the AAUW. Helen is survived by sister Marilyn Claire of Chaska, as well as daughters Barbara and Linda (Larry Knickerbocker); grandchildren Andrew and Tommy; nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives. Preceded in death by siblings Ramona Johnson, Ronald Wills and Joanne Cramer. Memorial service to be held on Monday, June 6, at St. Stephen Lutheran Church in Bloomington: 8400 France Ave. S., 55431. Visitation at 10 am, followed by an 11 am service. Luncheon to follow at the church. Interment has taken place at Prairie Oaks Memorial Eco Gardens, Inver Grove Heights. Special thanks to the Edina Care Center and especially the staff and volunteers in the memory care area, where social worker Erin focuses on the abilities of residents and not their disabilities.
