Sell, Helen Eleanor (Long) Age 95, of Mpls. passed away May 26, 2016. Preceded in death by husband Robert L. Sell, parents Lloyd and Harriet Long, sister Jean, sons David, Jonathan, Robert. Survived by son Michael (Diana), daughter Meredith (John), grandchildren Charles, (Shauna), Matthew, Jonathan, Alexander, Emily, Sarah, Autumn (Ryan), great-grandchildren John, Josephine. Born Luverne MN October 30, 1920. Attended College of St. Teresa, Winona, MN, and St. Mary's, Rochester, MN earning RN degree in 1942. Joined Army Nurse Corps in 1942, achieved rank of 1st Lt. Served in England and France following D-Day invasion. Returned to MN 1945 enrolled U of M completing degree in edu. Taught at U of M School of Nursing. While at the U met Robert 1946 and married 1947. Volunteer and Life Member Mpls.Swedish Institute. Manager and board member Church Home of MN. Porcelain artist, supporter of wildlife, birds and environment.Summers spent on Bungalow Island, Clearwater Lk, Annandale, MN.Bob's career took them to IL, FL, VA and TX making many life long friends and becoming a loyal fan of NFL football teams along the way. We all knew her to be amazing and wonderful. She touched the lives of everyone she met with her fun and warm outgoing personality. We will love her and miss her forever. Funeral service Friday July 15th at 4 o'clock p.m. Minnesota Cremation Society, 7110 France Ave. So., Edina MN. Visitation one hour prior and reception following. Private interment at Oakwood Cemetery, Red Wing, MN.
