Olson, Mae Carol (Morrison) 94, of Brooklyn Park, passed away on May 25. Preceded in death by parents Angus and Augusta Morrison, and by husband of 60 years, George W. Olson, and niece, Sandra. Survived by children Linda (Richard) Runbeck of Circle Pines, David (Kay Thomas) Olson of Minneapolis, Bradley (Sheryl) Olson of Brooklyn Park, Beth (Kent) Olney of Bourbonnais, IL, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and niece, Barbara Upens. She was a lifelong, active member of Asbury United Methodist Church (now Living Spirit UMC). In the mid 60's she joined the staff of the Minnesota United Methodist Conference, becoming executive secretary to two bishops prior to retiring in 1985. She was known by all to be a deeply compassionate, kind and generous woman, and a strong, inspiring force to her family. Even after suffering a debilitating stroke in 2013, she continued to demonstrate the same gracious spirit to those around her.
