Schmitke, Thomas C. age 61, of Faribault, MN, passed away unexpectedly on May 26, 2016, at his home. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church in Faribault. Memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1:00 2:00 p.m. at the church. Arrangements are with the Parker Kohl Funeral Home & Crematory of Faribault. Thomas Carl was born on March 28, 1955 in Huntington, Indiana to Harold and Doris (Floyd) Schmitke. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Virginia, MN, and attended Bethel College. Tom worked as a Ford Master Mechanic at Freeway Ford in Bloomington, MN from 1984 2000. He was united in marriage to Londa Wasmund on September 23, 1993. They lived in Bloomington until moving to their home on Fox Lake in 1995. Tom has worked for the Star Tribune for the past 9 years and was a member of the Teamsters Union. He was extremely handy and could fix anything. Tom enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, boating, and pool league. He will be deeply missed by his wife, Londa Schmitke of Faribault; children, Mary Fleetwood of Hibbing, MN and her children, Blaine and Leah, Mark Schmitke (Jessica Riley) of Faribault, and Kia Schmitke of Faribault; his father, Harold Schmitke of Waconia, MN; brother, William (Jill) Schmitke of Virginia, MN, and nieces, Lisa and Jena; sister, Beth (Nels) Salo of Waconia, and nephews, Aaron and Andrew; and many other relatives and friends.
