Vilmo, Yvonne T. 91, died Wednesday, May 25th, in the comfort of her apt. in Baxter. She enjoyed her many quiet years of living in the Barryville woods on Merrifield Bay on N Long Lake, before moving into Northern Lakes Senior Living in Baxter last fall. She loved her puzzles, books, flowers and birds, especially the cardinals. Born in Minneapolis, she was raised in Halstad, MN. In 1946 she married Jerome O. Vilmo, and they spent 45 happy years together. She loved all of her blended family unconditionally and equally. Survived by her sons, Jerrold ("Nute"), Jeffry (Nan), Gregory (Linda), Bradley (Sheree), and daughter, Paula Kay Wallace (Dan); sister, Grace Workman; special niece, Roxanne Riches. Also 6 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Jerome and brother, James A. Nelson, Jr. The family would like to thank the residents and staff at Northern Lakes Senior Living for becoming part of their extended family, and making Yvonne's last few months a new adventure, especially Dorothy, Mildred, and Ginny Additional thanks to the staff of St Croix Hospice, for their amazing dedication to comfort care, especially Alesha, Melinda, Amber, Joyce and Jen, whose never ending smiles and joy, made each day that much easier. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by the funeral at 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 31 at Zion Lutheran Church in Brainerd, MN. Pastor Steve Benson will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd. Light lunch will follow at the Brainerd VFW at 12:30.
