Carlson, Shirley Frances age 87, of Edina, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 24, surrounded by her family, who loved her so much. Shirley was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born on July 2, 1928, in Morris, Mn, she was one of ten children. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Ann Buckley; son Timothy; brothers John and Jim; sisters Meg and Gerry. Shirley is survived by Allen, the love of her life and devoted husband of 64 years; son Al (Lori); daughters Karol, Kim (Fred), Jackie (Doug), and Cathy (Brett); 10 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren; brothers Mike (Shirley), Jean (Jeanette), Darrell (Linda) and Ted (Lyn); sister Pat. Shirley devoted her life to her husband and children by providing a loving home for her own family, many foster children, and daycare children. One of our fondest memories was of her cooking - especially her homemade donuts, potato salad, and sweet rolls, all made from scratch and with love. A private interment to follow service at Lakewood Cemetery, where Shirley will be laid to rest beside her son Timothy.
