Rudolph O. Marti, Sr.

Marti, Rudolph O., Sr. Born in New Ulm, MN on 12/15/1926, quick with a joke, generous and loyal to friends and family, Rudolph (Rudy) O. Marti, Sr. passed away on May 19, 2016 in Green Valley, AZ. He joins his beloved mother, Julia, and sister, Louise. Survived by his wife of sixty-three years, Eva Marti (nee Lamere), children, Julie Marti-McLain, (Scott), Rudolph O. Marti, Jr. (Jeanne), Leonard Marti, (Deborah), Mary Beth Marti, Gretchen Marti, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A Navy veteran of WWII, Rudy partook in an Honor Flight in October 2013. His career in broadcasting and advertising included on-air stints in Texas and Austin, MN, buying media at Campbell-Mithun, and launching his own buying service, The Marti Company. Rudy was an avid bowler, fisherman, hunter, and card player. He was active in the Knights of Columbus where he attained the level of Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree. He volunteered at hospitals, was an enthusiastic reader and kept up on current events, particularly politics. On June 8, 2016, A celebration of his life will be held at the Knights of Columbus, 1114 American Blvd W, Bloomington, MN at 10:30 am. Lunch will be served at noon. His burial with military honors will be at Ft. Snelling Cemetery, 7601 34th Street South, Minneapolis, Assembly Station #3, promptly at 2 pm.
