Bernard D. 'Bernie' Reisberg

Reisberg, Bernard D. "Bernie" 82. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Brother, who fought the good fight and kept the Faith, passed away May 24th from Parkinson's and Lewy Body. Preceded in death by parents Christine and Les Reisberg, nephew, Todd Krebs, brother-in-law Don Krebs. Survived by loving wife and college sweetheart, Joanne Anderson of 59 years. He will be greatly missed by children Carolyn (Charisa) Reisberg, Jennifer (Lars) Johnson, and Bernie-John (Michelle) Reisberg; grandchildren: Sam, Meredith, Tori, Gunnard, and Spencer. Sister Lois Krebs; nephews John Freeburg III, James (Tara) Freeburg, Charlie (Lisa) Freeburg; nieces Amy (John) Young, Deborah (Brian) Wolf; sister-in-law & brother-in-law Carol and John Freeburg. Bernie graduated from Anoka High School class of '51, attended the University of Minnesota, receiving his law degree in '55 and JD in '57. He served in the US Army at Fort Bliss as a JAG officer, meeting long-time-friends Bob and Rosalie Gies. The Judge Advocates Association recognized his attaining the highest academic standing in his class on Military Justice. After his Army service he entered into law practice with his partner Ernie Lindstrom and founded Lindstrom & Reisberg. As Bernie's father was one of the founders of Goodin Company, Bernie worked there as Secretary-Treasurer, President, CEO and Chairman, Board of Directors. He served on numerous Boards: North Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Employers Association of MN, Minnesota Chamber of Commerce Health Care committee, Minnesota Comprehensive Health Association, U.S. Chamber of Commerce, District 281 School Board, Board of Directors of the American Swedish Institute and was a member of Mpls Rotary Number 9. Bernie enjoyed playing volley ball at the Minneapolis Athletic Club, walking the shores of Captiva Island, where he served on the Board of South Seas Island Resort, and spending a Iifetime of summers at Big Eagle Lake. He was a member of the ABA, Elim Lutheran Church, Delta Kappa Phi fraternity, and Golden Valley Country Club. He instilled Christian values, strong work ethics, and stressed the unending and unconditional love of family. Private interment at Hillside Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, June 2, 4:00-7:00 at Glen Haven Chapel, Washbum-McReavy Crystal. Memorial service Friday, June 3rd, 11:00, Elim Lutheran Church, 3978 West Broadway.
