Swanson, Evelyn M. (Johnson) age 96, former Bloomington resident, passed away May 24, 2016 at Walker Methodist Health Center, Minneapolis, where she had been a resident for the last two and a half years. Born May 7, 1920 in Minneapolis to William and Olga (Dongoske) Johnson, Evelyn graduated from South High School in June, 1938. She married Harry Swanson on September 27, 1952. He preceded her in death on March 16, 2009. Survived by sister, Grace Coyne, along with several nieces and nephews. Also preceded in death by her parents, brother-in-law Gerald Coyne and several aunts and uncles. Evelyn worked for Montgomery Ward for over 30 years. She was an avid golfer and recorded three holes-in-one during her lifetime. The Swansons were active in their church and enjoyed boating and traveling. In addition to their Bloomington residence, they owned homes in Sun City, Arizona and Nisswa, Minnesota. Memorial service Friday, 11 AM, June 10, at Diamond Lake Lutheran Church, 5760 Portland Ave. S. Minneapolis. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the church. Henry W.
