Segal, Stewart age 82, of Minnetonka passed away peacefully on May 25, 2016. Stewart was born on September 7, 1933. and was preceded in death by his parents, Hattie and Louis Segal. Stewart is survived by wife, Lynne, children Joni Bloom (Mike) Sue Teper (Jim), Amy Schachter (Steve) and grandchildren, Jessica and Sam Teper and Ben and Eden Schachter, and his brother James Segal (Sandy). He was an uncle to John, Steve, and Tom Segal. Stewart was a graduate of Southwest High School, where he was Twin Cities' Tennis Doubles Champion and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a decorated Sergeant in the US Air Force serving in Korea. He met Lynne in 1957 and they married six months later. They were happily married for 58 years. Stewart spent his winters on his cherished Sanibel Island. For many years, he helped run the family business, Federal Lumber Company, before launching a career in real estate. He was a founding partner in Chex Services. He was an accomplished athlete and avid sports spectator. He was skilled in racquet sports, including tennis, racquetball, and most recently, Pickle Ball. He served on the Board of Directors for the Minneapolis Jewish Cemetery and volunteered to counsel stroke victims. Stewart helped build and found Camp Flaming Pine.
