Venne, Stanley D. "Babe" Of Crystal, formerly of Hibbing. The 9th son born to Emma and Delor Venne on June 20, 1938, died of Lewy body disease on May 10, 2016. Stan graduated from Mountain Iron High School in 1958 where he was very active in sports. He coached Hibbing Youth Hockey for 35 years. Stan retired from National Steel Plant after 35 years. He was a 4 year Army veteran, a longtime member of Elks Club #1022, and a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus #1649. Survived by wife of 54 years, Mary Kay (Rodgers); children, Bill (Douglas Kline), Stan Jr (Nancy Ohman), Lisa, Cara, and Patty Venne; grandchildren, Tyler, Ryan, Carter, Caitlyn, Zane and Josie; former son-in-law John Zbacnik; brothers, Cliff of Boise, Idaho, Corky (Carol) of Houston, Texas, Edmund (Kathy) of Savage, Minnesota, and Bernard of De Witt, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Mark) Plys of Hibbing, Minnesota and Pat (Jerry) Vicari of St. Cloud, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Bill (Barbara) Rodgers of Apache Junction, Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Susan Venne; brothers, Didace, Clayton, Arthur and Elmer. Memorial Mass of Christian Burial Monday, June 6th at 12:00 Noon at St. Joseph Parish Center, 8701 36th Ave North, New Hope, with visitation after 10:00 AM. Private interment at a later date.
