Ardeth Louise Volk

Volk, Ardeth Louise Age 84, of Plymouth, MN, met her Savior on May 23, 2016 surrounded by her family after a long bout with medullary abdominal cancer. Valedictorian of Mankato High School, class of 1949, Ardy won several awards for speech and music and edited her class yearbook. She played the drums in high school, college and throughout her life. A 50 year member of Peace Presbyterian Church, St. Louis Park, MN, she was a deacon, deacon shepherdess, elder, treasurer, and junior choir director for many years. She was a former member of Minnesota State Board of Realtors and of Minnesota Head Trauma Association. Ardy graduated from the U of M with honors in 1977 with a B.A. in Sociology, Child Psychology, and Theatre Arts, creating her own degree. She was an accountant and real estate closer for many years and wrote many clever parodies which were performed at her numerous parties. Ardy visited dozens of countries on over 100 vacations, and planned vacations for friends and family. She used her theater background as a moderator and actress for Storytime Players, presenting theatrical readings to children. She was a dedicated and skilled bridge player. Other interests included public speaking, time share trading, tax preparation, investing, tennis, bowling, croquet, swimming, music and computers. Preceded in death by parents, Evelyn and Warren Denison, and brother, Bill Denison. Survived by loving husband of 65 years, Bob; children Karen (Mark Good) Volk, sons Dr. Randall (Carol) Volk, Scott Volk and Greg (Ruth) Volk; grandchildren, Marjie, Jeremy, Francie and Tommy Volk; sisters, Mary (Dr. William) Nelson and Barbara O'Connor; along with countless loving relatives and friends. Memorial service 11 a.m. on Friday, June 3rd, at Peace Presbyterian Church, 7624 Cedar Lake Road, St. Louis Park, MN 55426. Visitation is one hour prior to service. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Peace Presbyterian Church or the American Cancer Society.
