Brooks Elliot Adlin

Adlin, Brooks Elliot Age 59, of Bloomington, MN, passed with sister Gail by his side on April 23, 2016, after a 13 year battle with a degenerative nerve and muscle disease. Brooks was preceded in death by his loving mother, Barbara. He is survived by father Hy; son Andrew; sisters Gail Carlson (Bruce), Susan Greenwald (Donald) and Christina Kringstein (Barry); brother David (Florencia); nephews and nieces Brandon, Jenna (Braydon), Courtney, Paige, James, Alan, Cole, Tess, Grace, Kip and Lucy; Uncle Glenn (Rona); cousin Carla (Karen) and friends. Brooks graduated from Bloomington Jefferson in 1974 where he was a member of the hockey team. He graduated from Mankato State University and was a member of the 1980 NCAA Division II National Hockey Championship team. While serving as the Recreational Sports Director at Normandale Community College, he was concurrently employed for many years by the Bloomington Park Board, sharing his well known passion for the care of the Bloomington outdoor ice rinks. He officiated thousands of softball, baseball, football and hockey games. He began his ticket broker business in 1996. Brooks always had a contagious smile, positive attitude and an open heart; he was a kind, understanding, forgiving friend to everyone. His passion for life was an inspiration to all. He always had a loyal personal team surrounding him, including his father, who supported him in his determination to be independent, engaged, and to experience the energy of The Cities. He will be missed by many friends and acquaintances. Brooks donated his body to the University of Minnesota Anatomy Bequest Program to aid in education and research. Private interment will occur at a later date. A celebration of Brooks' life will be held on Friday, May 6, 2016, at Minnesota Valley Country Club, 6300 Auto Club Rd., Bloomington, MN with a visitation at 11:00 AM followed by a service at 12:00 noon.
