Divine, Marie Rita (Tacheny) Age 86 longtime resident of Edina, MN passed away peacefully April 26, 2016. She was born on August 19, 1929 in Pine City, MN. Marie was a devoted wife to Tom and loving mother to 5 children. She is survived by daughters Karen (Greg) Bretson of Edina and Cathy (Jon) Oas of Burnsville; sons Patrick (Ann Davies) of Minnetonka and Kevin (Nancy) of Longmont, CO. Also survived by 6 grandchildren, Brian and Teresa, Steven (Katie) Bretson and Shannon (Nick) Malecha, Tom and Nick (Courtney); 2 great grandchildren Austin and Makayla; sisters Alice Tucker and Annette (John) Flaherty; brother, Richard (Mary); sister-in-law, Mary Anna Tacheny; and many, many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Thomas; daughter Peggy; parents William and Elizabeth; brothers William, Jr. and Daniel. Marie devoted her life to raising her children and later worked for over 25 years at Gabberts. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, outdoor activities and being involved with Our Lady of Grace Church. She was rarely seen without her point and shoot camera documenting events and sharing the pictures. The family would like to thank The Glenn in Hopkins, formerly St. Therese Southwest for their tender and loving care of Marie. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, May 4 at 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Grace Church in Edina with a visitation one hour prior at church.
