Skelton, Betty Jane (née Lloyd) age 94, passed away on April 21, 2016 at her home in Minneapolis. Born on March 2, 1922 in Springfield, Missouri, Betty moved to Minneapolis at the age of 35 with her husband and their four children. She became a teacher in St. Louis when her children were grown, and returned to Minnesota to retire in her beloved cabin on Lake Bemidji. Betty was a devoted Presbyterian, and remained active in the church in all her neighborhoods. She was preceded in death by her sons Lloyd and Philip Skelton. Betty is survived by daughters Roseann Lloyd (James Smith) and Alice Lloyd (Jeff Crawford); granddaughters Emily Lloyd (Jeff Callahan), Lisa Skelton (Cory Clemetson), and Anna Tuerck (Oscar); great granddaughters Aisha and Soleil Callahan; and her sister Mary Anna Davis and many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016, at 2:00 pm at the Lakewood Memorial Chapel, 3600 Hennepin Avenue, followed by visitation at Springhouse Ministry Center Church, Lyndale United Church of Christ, 610 West 28th Street, 3:30-5:30 p.m. Memorials preferred to UNICEF Children's Fund.
