Guzy, Jean Audrey (Godfrey) Age 77, of Columbia Heights, passed away on February 6, 2016 after a courageous 13 year long battle with breast cancer. Preceded in death by parents Ray and Mable Godfrey and brothers Bud, Douglas, Rollie, and Gordy. The family would like to thank Dr. King and the awesome staff at Fridley Oncology, the care staff and nurses at the Legacy, and the Allina hospice nurses for the wonderful care that Jean received. Edison High School graduate, class of 1956. Jean was a loving person who always did her best to make sure that others needs were taken care of. She enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, playing and watching tennis, and spending time at the cabin on Balsam Lake. She loved watching her granddaughter play hockey and her grandson play guitar in various bands. Jean was also a staunch supporter of the Spring Lake Park Panthers boys basketball team. Survived by husband Robert, son Grant (Lisa), daughter Nicole (Jeff) Winslow, brother Warren Godfrey, sister Arlene (Burton) Bjork and nephew Jimmy (Barb) Bjork, grandson Jeffrey Winslow, granddaughter Allie, great-granddaughters, Sophie and Lily Winslow and many other relatives and friends. Memorial service will be held on Monday, February 15th, at 11:00 am at First Lutheran Church of Columbia Heights, 1555 40th Ave. NE, Columbia Heights, MN 55421. Visitation one hour before the service at 10:00 am and lunch at the church to follow the service.
