Gillick, William A. (Bill) age 91, of Bloomington, born Feb. 28, 1924, passed away Feb. 6, 2016. Preceded in death by parents, William E. and Gertrude (Mostue) Gillick; and wife, Gertrude (Maleski) of 46 years. Survived by wife, Jean Kunitz; sons, Michael, Mark (Julie) and Kevin (LoriAnn); daughter, Kathleen Hesse (Timothy); step-sons, John Kunitz (Sue) and James Kunitz (Sara); 9 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousin and friends. Bill worked in the brewing industry for 38 years as a bacteriologist, chemist and quality control manager having worked at Miller's, Schmidt's, Grain Belt, Olympia, Pabst and retired from the Stroh Brewery. He is a past President and life member of District St. Paul-Mpls Master Brewers Association of the Americas, a life member of the American Society of Brewing Chemists, past Chairman of North Central Section of A.S.B.C., past President of Lager Vets, is a charter member of the Marian Council Knights of Columbus and a longtime member of American Legion Post #435 and Assumption Church, Richfield. Bill graduated Cum Laude from the College of St. Thomas and did graduate work at Marquette University. He served in the Navy during WWII as a Lieutenant (JG) in cryptography and communications. Visitation 9:30-10:30 AM Thursday, Feb. 11 with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM at the Church of the Assumption, 305 E. 77th St., Richfield. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
