Rapinac, James Edward age 80, of Gold Canyon, Ariz., died January 23, 2016. Jim was born March 10, 1935, in Duluth, Minn., the son of Ann Rapinac. He was raised in Hibbing, Minn., and Southern California. Jim graduated from Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Calif., in 1952. He served in the Army in England and Germany, managing officers' clubs and playing basketball. Jim married Judy Lee Omtvedt of Keewatin, Minn., in 1958. He graduated from the University of Denver in 1960, returned to Minnesota and began working for Sperry Univac. In 1978, he was named Vice President of Marketing for the Defense Systems Division. Jim later started a consulting business, Eisenhut Systems, and worked for Norden Systems in Connecticut. He lived for many years in Burnsville, Minn., and Salt Lake City, Utah. In 1994, he moved to Arizona, where he lived until his death. Jim is survived by his wife, Judy Rapinac; daughter Rebecca Rapinac; son Todd James (Jocelyne) Rapinac; daughter Kristin (Myron) Rapinac Graessle; aunt Frances Stergar; and numerous relatives.
