Thomas Patrick Cross

Cross, Thomas Patrick It is with incredible sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Patrick Cross, age 65. Tom passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on 10/1/15 in Concord, CA with his wife Sandy at his side. The cause of death was lung cancer. Preceded in death by his father, Raymond J. Cross. Survived by his mother, Anna "Nan" Cross of St. Louis Park, MN; his loving wife Sandy Cross (married for 38 yrs.) of Concord, CA; daughters Jenny Miller (Jeff) of Martinez, CA, and Kimberly Cross of Brooklyn, NY; and grandson Carson Miller. He is also survived by his sisters Jennifer Cross (David Tosher), Nancy Harvat (John), Mary Cross (Murphy Hernandez); brother Dan Cross, and several nieces and nephews. Tom was born on April 22, 1950 in Denver, CO and grew up in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Central High School and attended the University of Minnesota in the Twin Cities. Tom worked all his life in the construction industry in Minnesota, Texas and California. He has said his happiest time was when he was working outdoors, overseeing the building of large structures like bridges and highways. Tom had a passion for skeet shooting and became a champion shooter who also enjoyed teaching others the sport. He was a master pool player and had a love for playing games, including chess, poker, cribbage and darts. He had a knack for becoming skilled at whatever he put his mind to. Known to friends and family as a smart, funny man with a kind heart, he will be remembered for telling stories, making people laugh and his willingness to go out of his way to help others. Private services will be held.
