Violet Rennerfeldt

Rennerfeldt, Violet Age 100, of Bloomington, passed away September 22, 2015. A "Fifties Mom" (Free-Range Kids and The Dogs Ran Loose). Preceded in death by husband, Maurice; daughter-in-law, Judy; sisters, Evelyn, Hazel, Ruby; brother, Ellsworth. Survived by sons, Larrie, Keith, Randy (Janie); grandchildren, Kristen, Eric (Kimberly), Paul (Haley), Andy, Tasha (Peter), Matt (Megan); great-grandchildren, Raina, Landon, Carson, Markus, Isaac and Jonah. Vi was raised on a farm near Rosholt, SD and taught grades 1-6 in a one-room country schoolhouse. She married Maurice Rennerfeldt, and soon they set out for Mpls. Yes, she was a "50's Mom." She raised 3 sons and was an excellent cook. Supper at 6:00 and "Be home on time!" If there was trouble at school, she always "sided" with the teacher! When her husband, Maurice died 40 years ago, she remained steadfast in her faith, stayed independent, and ultimately retired years later as a Head switchboard operator at age 75 from Fairview-Riverside Hospital. They thanked her with a party, flowers, and a hug from the director. We all enjoyed the ride home in a big black limo! Mom was able to attend, and enjoy the gathering of family & friends for her 100th Birthday Party on August 15th, 2015. A long life lived with grace and dignity -- filled with unconditional love, and support for her beloved family. Mom, Grandma Vi, Aunt Vi and Dear Friend Vi, you can rest in peace. Funeral service 11 AM Friday, Oct. 9, with visitation one hour prior at Mt. Olivet Lutheran Church, 5025 Knox Ave S., Mpls. Interment Lakewood Cemetery.
