Olson, Marlin L. age 86, of Anoka, passed away September 26, 2015. He married the love of his life, Phyllis in 1953. She preceded him in death in 1994. He was also preceded in death by his parents, Margaret & Roy Olson; brother, Orville "Bud" Olson; sister, Darlene Toft. He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Pam Hunt (Rick), Penny Robertson, Patrice Waters (Victor); grandchildren, Sarah Hunt, Katharine Hunt, Emily Kidd (Brett), Thomas Robertson, Amy Robertson, Eliot Waters; great grandchildren, Grayson Kidd, Charlotte Kidd; many other family and good friends. Marlin was born in Colfax, Wisconsin on October 27, 1928. He grew up in South Minneapolis. He served in the army during WWII. Marlin was employed by Honeywell for 37 years. He enjoyed bowling and golf leagues, woodworking, cribbage and reading. He was an avid Minnesota sports fan. A special thanks to Walker Plaza of Anoka and J.A. A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, June 17th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Historic Fort Snelling Memorial Chapel, at the intersection of Hwys 5, 55 and 62 (watch for signs) (612-279-3555) with visitation 1 hour before service. Interment to follow at Fort Snelling National Cemetery.
