Faith Gudding

Gudding, Faith Beloved mother, grandmother and friend-passed away on September 29, 2015. She was born May 16, 1938 in Charleston, SC, daughter of Louis and Izora Smith. Faith moved many times as a child and young adult, living in 21 states. She graduated from Fargo Central High School, and went to college at the University of Minnesota before transferring to the University of North Dakota. From a young age Faith was a multi-faceted performer, with many solo and choral concerts and theatre productions. Early jobs included touring aqua-belle and dance instructor. She spent the next couple of decades as a stay-at-home wife and mother. Once her children were grown, she held a variety of positions in the retail and direct marketing arenas. Her final professional position was at Fraser, from which she retired in January of 2015. Faith loved reading, singing in the church choir, cooking, socializing with her many close friends, and spending time with family. Faith was very active and brightened every room that she entered. She is survived by daughter Lisa Gudding (Brad Holden) of Minneapolis, MN; son Thomas Gudding of Denver, CO; seven grandchildren-Isabel and Claire Holden, and Cole, Lucas, Max, Aliana and Jack Gudding; and many loving friends. Memorial service 11 AM Tuesday, Oct. 6 with gathering starting 10 AM at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 7th St. NW, New Brighton, MN 55112. Lunch follows service.
