Bacheller, Rodney W. Age 90 of Bloomington passed away peacefully on November 13, 2019. Survived by children, Susan (Rob) Segal, Bill (Leslie) Bacheller, Bobbie (Mark) Moormann; grandchildren Ruby, Leo, Brandon, Stacey, Elliot, Carter. Preceded in death by loving wife, Peggy of 61 years. Born on January 11, 1929 in Forest Lake, Rodney grew up in Saint Anthony Park. In 1955 he met his future wife Peggy at the Chicago Temple First Methodist Church Young Adult group and they married on September 29, 1956. In 1959 they moved to Bloomington Minnesota where they raised their family. Rodney worked at Red Owl as a grocer from 1968 to retirement. He held various positions at Red Owl, including Vice President of AFL-CIO Union. After retirement, he pursued a new career as a tax advisor/planner, eventually owning his own Mr. Tax of America office. Rodney excelled at his hobbies. He loved gardening and volunteered at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. He was an avid model railroader since the early 1970's and continued participating in this hobby all his life. He was the family genealogist and has traced our family history back to the 1400's. He and Peggy travelled extensively throughout the world, especially enjoying organized bus trips via their favorite travel company, R&J Tours. Celebration of life will be on his birthday, Saturday, January 11, 2020 at 11am at Portland Avenue United Methodist Church, 8000 Portland Ave South, Bloomington, with visitation one hour prior. Memorials can be made to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum or donor's choice in lieu of flowers.
