Sirr, Robert "Bob" L. Age 84, of St. Paul died of natural causes on November 2, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents, Bernice (Trautner) of Red Wing, and Lucas Sirr of Morris, MN, and his wife Palma "Polly" (Mark Burrows). Survived by his daughters, Susan Burrows of Eagan, and Ann Lock (Keven) of Shelton, WA. Bob grew up in Minneapolis and attended the University of Minnesota, was active in scouting, and was instrumental in the development of the service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega. After serving in the US Army Signal Corps, he opened his home as a foster parent to at-risk teenagers. Bob taught high school English and American History and retired from the Washington Co. District 833. In retirement, he volunteered at state and National Parks, including the Mississippi River Visitor Center. Bob was a quiet man of generous hospitality, an enthusiast of the arts, an environmentalist, and avid birder. He would take any possible opportunity for a cross-country road trip. Frugal and generous to the last, Bob donated his body to the Anatomy Bequest Program at the U of M Medical School to aid in education and research. Memorial gathering and reception at the Science Museum of MN, 120 W. Kellogg Blvd. in Saint Paul on Sunday, Dec. 8th at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation to a charity of your choice would be welcome.
