Gay Louise Jorgensen

Jorgensen, Gay Louise of St. Louis Park, November 10, 2019, at age of 92. Born January 22, 1927 in Minneapolis MN. She was a graduate of Washburn High School where she played on the tennis team, sprinted and long jumped for track. She married Arthur Jorgensen December 26, 1946. She was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, member of Women's Society, member of the hand bell choir. She led Girl Scout troops with Jean Loeffler, led Pioneer Girls, was member of West Suburban Women's Club, worked for Laura Ashley Shops and St Louis Park Schools. We will remember her for her hiking, biking, canoeing, cross country skiing, swimming, horseback riding, flamenco and tap dancing, her poetry, famous pies and oatmeal cookies, and the love of neighborhood picnics, of dogs, of her flower garden, and good times with her grandchildren. Her family thanks the staff at St. Therese who lovingly cared for her during her last years. She is preceded in death by father, Harry Rober; mother, Alice Rober; brother, Milo Rober; husband, Arthur Jorgensen. Survived by children, Jan Jorgensen, Marie Nicholson (Glenn) Donald Jorgensen (Jackie) and grandchildren, Beau Jorgensen, Benjamin, Andrew, Theodore, and Christianna Nicholson, Ryan Jorgensen, Nora Jorgensen; honorary granddaughters, Tera and Tori Thomas and six great-grandchildren, 7th due in February. Memorials to Salvation Army and Tunnels to Towers Foundation.
