Nystuen, Reverend Joseph P. 82 years old of Cold Spring, MN, passed away November 10. Joseph was born in Rugby, North Dakota to Reverend Joseph I. and Selma Nystuen. Joe attended Augsburg College and Seminary. He spent a year in Japan teaching English in the Tokai Lutheran Bible Institute. His love of music was a big part of his life. He sang in the Augsburg College Choir and Quartet and The Centennial Singers for many years. He was an accomplished saw player. Joe served the ELCA parishes of Roseville, MN, Grand Marais and Hovland, MN, Odin, MN, Windom, MN and Cumberland, WI. Joe is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nancy L. Gustafson Anderson and five children: Emilie (Michael Kennedy), Natalie (Steve Thompson), Susan (Tim Raygor), Trygve (Molly), Jeny (Jon Holthaus), 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is survived by five sisters: Eunice, Beverly, Winnie, Miriam and Grace. Memorial Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, November 29, at Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring, MN. Visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to: Augsburg University, Peace Lutheran Church in Cold Spring or Luther Seminary.
