Lotsberg, Allan Andrew Allan Lotsberg, aka Willie Ketchem, died on November 7, 2019. At the end of his life, as Alzheimers robbed him of speech, Allan would hold onto something - a hand, a rail, a get-well card - with a grip that you couldn't shake. He was like that in life. When he loved something, he did not let go. When he got on the stage, he wouldn't leave. He was fearless and funny, inventive and impatient. When he came into the world in 1932, born to Dorothy and Andrew Lotsberg, his folks never expected that this kewpie doll would become a singer, actor, writer, producer, and really bad dancer. From Theater St. Paul's production of "Three Penny Opera", to the years he was Willie Ketchem at WCCO, to his starring role in the first production at Chanhassen Dinner Theater, to the last performance of Allan Lotsberg's NEW Fogey Follies in 2010, he never really stopped moving. He leaves behind a huge audience of aging fans and a family he loved: his wife, Jackie Christman Lotsberg, his favorite and only daughter Amy Lotsberg (Greg Hetzler), former wife Barbara, his brother Roman's daughter in Spain, Carolyn Lotsberg, and in-laws, nieces and nephews, cousins and a flock of Lotsbergs in Lotsberg, Norway. Donations preferred to Alzheimers Association or the Animal Humane Society. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 20, at 2:00 PM, at Plymouth Congregational Church, 1900 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis.
