Akenson, Rose (DeMay) Age 89 of NE Mpls passed away 9/20/19. Rose was a 50 year breast cancer fighter & survivor. Rosie worked and managed Totino's Italian Kitchen for many years and she will be most remembered for her love of food, family and her faith. Preceded in death by husband, Roger N.; brothers, Frank & Chuck DeMay; sister, Marion Olson. Rosie is survived by loving sister, Geri Freeman; daughter, Barbara (Bob) Schlosser; son, Jack (Kathy) Akenson; stepchildren, Terry (Kathy) Akenson, Janet Becker, Carol Jo (Eric) Akenson; grandchildren, Brook (Brandon) Steege, Brett (Ani) Schlosser, Dani (James) Judge, Seth (Haley); step grandchildren, Kathy Becker, Linda Lind, Keith Akenson, Katie (Jeff) Dastrup, Megan (Jordan) Sainsbury, Mallary Lonnquist, Taylor (Ty) Hall; great-grandchildren, Rosie, Henrik, Daisy; step great-grandchildren, Halle, Jackson, Hayden, Hudson, Myles, Hunter, Aspen, Skyler, Aaron, Isabella, June, Gaborik, Evan, Brady, Caleb and Zoie; many nieces, nephews and special friends, Ken and Linda Nagel. A special thanks to the wonderful care givers at Mt. Olivet Careview Home and Grace Hospice. Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, 9/25 at 11am, visitation 1 hour prior, luncheon to follow mass, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 2739 Stinson Blvd. NE, Mpls.
