Lansdale, Gilbert Burns Age 93 of Bloomington was born in Washington D.C. and died peacefully on Aug. 21, 2019. Gil still holds the strikeout record at Gonzaga High in DC, served in the US Army European Theater during WWII. He was captured in France and was a POW in Germany for 6 months. Gil worked with the Washington Senators and moved to Minnesota to help form the MN Twins, where he continued his career until he retired in 1986. Preceded in death by wife, Mary Ann. Survived by children, Mary Catherine (Timothy) Loomis, Jeannine (Rick) Helmerichs, Michael (Lisa) Lansdale; grandchildren, Scott, Erik, Rich, Matthew, Allison, Carter & Rachel; sister, Joan Smith from Salisbury, MD; and many nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
