Johnson, Rodney Herman Age 84, of Apple Valley, went to be with his Lord on August 13, 2019. Preceded in death by his parents, Melvin & Hazel Johnson; granddaughter, Meranda Johnson; sister, Ardis (Dale) Bengston; and brother, Delbert Johnson. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Norma; children, Kristin (Richard) Schneider, Paul (Kim) Johnson and Peter Johnson; grandchildren, Rick, Joshua (Lesley), Melissa, Brian, Dom, Katie, Victoria, Lorraine, Angelica, Brandon and Kole; great-grandchildren, Nash, Azalea, Amyiah and Dominique; sister-in-law, Sibila Johnson; many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. Rodney was born and grew up in Hoffman, MN. He left school early to join the Army. After serving two years, he returned home and attended Dunwoody Institute and became a tool & die maker. He married Norma June 25, 1960. After working several years for Honeywell, Rodney went into business with two friends and together they co-owned Northwestern Tool and Die, Canon Plastics and Palm Tool. Rodney was an avid sportsman, enjoying hunting and fishing in his free time. He was an active Ducks Unlimited member and a long-term member of the Lions Club. Memorial Service at 11am on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 1900 7th St. NW, New Brighton, with visitation one hour prior. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the donor's favorite charity.
