Prentice, Jon Age 83, of Minneapolis, left us on 15th Aug 2019. He was born 13th Oct 1935 in Minneapolis, MN, enlisted in the Army on 18th Aug 1954, and was Honorably discharged on 8th June 1957. He married his love, Nancy Nordholm, on 8th Sept 1959. He graduated from Augsburg College and began serving the City of Minneapolis as a Police Officer for the next 30 years. He was a member of the prestigious Police Underwater Diving Team, was shot in the line of duty, and rose through the ranks to Deputy Chief. After retirement he became involved at the Chester Bird American Legion Post, where he served in several positions including Post Commander. Survived by his wife, Nancy; 3 children, Johni (David) Levene, Grant (Kira) Prentice and Stephanie (Scott) Elwell. Preceded in death by his father, Merle Prentice, mother, Anna Peterson (Prentice, Abrahamson) and two sisters, Shirley (Mort) Weiss and Vonnie (Earl) Dehne.
