Egan, Mary Alice (Oss) Age 92, of Edina, MN, died peacefully on August 18, 2019. Preceded in death by her husband, William T. Egan and parents, Arnold C. and Frances S. Oss. Mary is survived by her children, Kate (Terry) Steinmetz, Tim (Kara), Sheila (John) Oien and Bill (Sue); grandchildren, Matt, Mike and Sara Steinmetz and Aindrea, Tom, Michael (Kristin), Claire and Kathleen Egan; great- grandchildren Lukas, Alivia and Charlie; her brother Arnold C. Oss, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews. Mary was born October 20, 1926 in Minneapolis and grew up in the Kenwood neighborhood. She attended the Northrop Collegiate School, and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts from the University of Minnesota, where she met her husband of 62 years, Bill Egan, on a blind date. Mary was a loving wife, mother and a good friend to many. She was an avid and competitive tennis player, in both singles and mixed doubles. Mary and Bill built a wonderful family cabin on Cross Lake in 1976. This was Mary's favorite place to be, spending time there with her growing family, entertaining lifelong friends & celebrating the 4th of July. The family extends its gratitude to the caregivers at Jones-Harrison for the loving care provided to Mary over the last several years and especially in her final days. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at 10:30 AM at with visitation at 9:30 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 5071 Eden Ave., Edina, MN.
