Toogood, Marlys Ann Age 84 of Roseville passed away unexpectedly Feb. 13, 2019. Survived by loving husband of 63 years, Roger; son, Mark Toogood; daughters, Pamela (Eric) Hulstrand, Ann (Joseph) Garrett and Julie (Eric) Rethemeier; 8 grandchildren, Joshua (Sophia Bertran) Garrett, Kira Garrett, Genevieve (Paul) Books, Ben Garrett, Kaara Hulstrand, Leesa (LeRoy) Malone, Nick and Meghan Rethemeier; 2 great grandchildren, Elmer and Winnie Books; brother, David (Geri) Marquardt; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by parents, Alvin and Mae Marquardt and brother, Loren Marquardt. Marlys was a 1952 graduate of Lourdes HS Rochester. She received her RN degree from St. Mary's School of Nursing 1954, married her high school sweetheart August 27, 1955. Marlys worked in numerous hospitals and retired as Supervisor at Lakeridge Heath Care Center. She volunteered her time in various community services such as Meals on Wheels, Caring and Sharing Hands and Friends of Roseville Parks. Her faith community was very important, evident through her numerous St. Odilia Church activities. Marlys enjoyed socializing, especially with her 5 bridge groups. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend with an infectious laugh and smile who welcomed all. Visitation Sunday, Feb. 17th from 2-6 PM at HOLCOMB-HENRY-BOOM-PURCELL FUNERAL HOME, 515 Hwy 96 W., at Mackubin, Shoreview. Mass of Christian Burial 11 AM Monday, Feb. 18th (visitation 10-11 AM) ST. ODILIA CATHOLIC CHURCH, 3495 N. Victoria, Shoreview. Luncheon to follow Mass. Interment St. Odilia Prayer Garden.
